Paris & Ollie

I normally like to get to know a bride and groom by meeting them a few times before the wedding but in this case it wasn’t possible as this lovely couple live in Australia! I could tell from our few phone calls that I was going to click with Paris and Ollie, and I really loved their laid back but really thoughtful approach to their wedding day.

Paris and Ollie came back over to Chagford to get married in Ollie’s home town in Dartmoor, and it was lovely to see how many members of Paris’ family flew all the way over from Australia to be with them celebrating their wedding day!

They only wanted half day coverage so I was with them for 5 hours, which seemed the perfect amount to capture the spirit of their lovely wedding. I met Ollie at the St Michael’s Church in Spreyton ahead of the ceremony, where all of the guests were enjoying a few drinks in the picturesque Dartmoor pub just down the road. I was very excited waiting outside the church to see Paris arrive in the vintage car – and she looked absolutely gorgeous!

The ceremony was such an emotional and meaningful affair with loads of tears (and laughter!) the whole way through. We left the church with a cheerful confetti tunnel before heading back to Chagford Cricket Club for the reception.

They made the cricket club look absolutely awesome and it had been decorated in such a cool way with some statement furniture and fairy lights which were perfect to use for all their wedding photos While the guests enjoyed all the outside games (giant Jenga is my favourite as I love waiting for the tower to fall!), we traipsed across the grounds and through the fields where there was an amazing spot that felt “proper Dartmoor” with the hills and ferns. The afternoon light was lovely and Paris and Ollie were so wonderful to photograph together and you can feel their happiness shining through the photos!

After this, everyone was sat down for the speeches. Again, everyone was in floods of tears and laughter (all in the best way!) before eating. I headed off at this time and left them all to party away in to the evening.

I absolutely adored being the wedding photographer for this lovely little Dartmoor wedding!
